Crab Island has several attractions for families with children, including:
- A lighthouse: the lighthouse is a great place to watch the sunset and see if you can spot manatees swimming nearby. It’s also where you can rent kayaks to explore the bayou that surrounds Crab Island.
- Fishing piers: this is one of the most popular spots on Crab Island, where kids can fish from docks that extend into the water. There’s even a bait shop where you can purchase worms or minnows for your catch!

Big Kahuna’s Water Park

- The Wave Pool: this is where you can relax and enjoy the waves while they splash over you! The Wave Pool is a great place for kids to play in because it’s shallow and safe.
- The Lazy River: this is a slow-moving river that goes around the whole park. You don’t have to swim because it’s so shallow (about 2 feet deep). You can float down the river on tubes or inner tubes, or just walk alongside it if you want! The Lazy River is great for kids who aren’t too confident swimmers yet because it’s very easy for them to float along in it without any effort at all!
- The Kowabunga Racer will speed you down on your water mat until you splash safely and move to the next attraction! No brakes included!

This park is located at the head of a scenic highway on Okaloosa Island and offers visitors several ways to enjoy themselves while learning about our oceans and seas! There are dozens of exhibits including touch tanks where kids can learn about sea creatures such as water turtles, dolphins or sea lions. The interactive displays are magical! Harbowalk Village & Gulfarium
Harborwalk Village is a fun place to visit with kids. It’s located in Destin, Florida, and it’s full of things to do with kids. The village is on the Gulf side of the peninsula, so you don’t have to worry about traffic or long drives. While there, check the Gulfarium as it is one of our favorite places to take the kids when we’re in Destin. There’s plenty for them to see, including dolphins and birds. If you want to get close to the animals at all times, there are several exhibits that allow you to pet some of the dolphins or feed them by hand! The whole family will enjoy this unique experience here at Harborwalk Village.
